Recipe for Meatloaf

This beef meatloaf recipe is very easy to follow.  With everyday ingredients, you can easily make this delicious meal within one hour and a half.

Ingredients

1 kg of lean ground beef

2 large onions largely diced

1 cup of milk

2 eggs

2 cups dried breadcrumbs

2 tsp dried bay leaves

4 tablespoons of ketchup

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper, ground.

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Salt

 

Topping

4 tablespoons brown sugar

½ cup ketchup

2 tablespoons red wine/vinegar (optional)

 

Method

1.    In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, bread crumbs and the spices. Use your hands to mash the ingredients.

2.    Add in the beaten egg and milk and mix evenly.

3.    In a separate bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar and the red wine. Stir and set aside.

4.    Transfer the mixture to a loaf pan, level the top and spread the topping.

5.    Bake for 50-55 minutes under a temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit

6.    Remove from the oven and let it sit for 10-15 minutes before serving.

7.    Do not serve your meatloaf too soon as it may fall apart.
