Recipe for Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Grilled cheese sandwich is a quick meal that is perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This grilled cheese recipe uses butter; you can use mayonnaise instead. Mayonnaise gives the cheese more time to melt due to its higher smoke point. However, if you want more than just an easy time in the kitchen, butter is the way to go.  

 

Ingredients

8 slices of bread                                                              

250g of cheddar cheese

4 tablespoons of butter

 

Method

1.    Heat a skillet on low heat

2.    Apply butter generously on one side of one piece of bread and place it on the skillet with the butter layered side directly on the skillet.  

3.    Place a slice of cheese on top of the slice of bread, butter a second slice of bread on one side and place it on top of the cheese with the butter side up.

4.    Grill your sandwich and flip over when one side turns golden brown.

5.    Continue grilling until the cheese has melted; maintain the low heat to avoid burning the sandwich.

6.    Continue with the remaining slices of bread.

7.    Your grilled cheese sandwich is ready
