Recipe for Beef Stir Fry

Ingredients

1 pound flank steak

1 tablespoon of light soy sauce

½ tablespoon black pepper powder

½ tablespoon turmeric powder

1 tablespoon cornstarch

3 tablespoons oil

1 cup broccoli

1 medium sized carrot

1 cup chopped red cabbage

1 green bell pepper

2 cloves garlic

¼ teaspoon chopped ginger

1 medium sized onion

1 green chili

1 egg

 

Method

1.      Clean the steak and divide it into pieces and place in a bowl.

2.      Marinade by adding a tablespoon of oil, black pepper, turmeric, soy sauce, cornstarch and egg. Mix well and set aside

3.      Slice the onions, carrots and green bell peppers into medium sized strips 

4.      Chop the garlic and green chili and place in separate bowls.

5.      Heat a cup of water in a skillet and add in a little salt.

6.      Dip the carrots and broccoli into the hot water, stir for a minute and remove from the hot water.

7.      Blanch with cold water to stop the vegetables from cooking any further and set aside.

8.      Place a clean skillet on medium heat and add in roughly two tablespoons of oil

9.      Add in the marinated steak and fry for a few minutes or until it turns into a brownish color.  

10.  Add salt and remove steak from the pan and place it in a clean bowl

11.  Add in the chili, ginger and garlic and fry for 1 minute

12.  Add in the onions, broccoli and carrots and fry for another minute

13.  Add in the cabbage and green peppers fry for another minutes and add in the steak

14.  Fry for two minutes at most and turn off the heat.

15.  Remove from heat and serve as desired!
